It is a pleasure to count you as a dear and trusted friend. This year's Fine Arts Festival promises to have something for everyone - all the arts are being represented. We were very honored that they have asked Jeff to be their Featured Author for this year. Master spy writer, Gayle Lynds and Court Room Thriller, John Lescroart - both NYTimes Bestsellers - were their Featured Authors last year. How can we go wrong following in their footsteps?! How to see some of your followers out there. If you come, please introduce yourselves!
left by: Maria

SYNCHRONICITY

Congrats! I can remember when you wrote about the realization that your marriage was coming to an end. So much sadness filled your life back then - and you so very far away, defending our country on foreign shores. I am thrilled that happiness and joy have found their way back to the forefront of your daily life.
Congratulations on your new writing career. Sounds like it is off to a great start.
Continue to smile Captain K - life is indeed worth living!!
left by: Maria

MEMORIAL DAY 2008

Nostalgic. That's a good word to sum up your style of writing. That is probably why I am so drawn to it. You have a very unique and gifted way of relating the war and the effects of the war to your readers.

As a military spouse (now retired), you paint an image of the Soldier serving in the war that can calm our fears while still showing the immediate threats and dangers. That is indeed a rare gift.

Even now that you are home and enjoying the fruits of fatherhood, your everyday thoughts and prose are refreshing to read.

Thank you.
left by: Maria

IT'S EVOLUTION BABY!

Thank you very much, Capt, for your service. I just finished the book Sandbox and found your web through there. Though I haven't read through all your blogs in here, I truly enjoy what you wrote for this entry. Can't wait to hear more about the things you listed, and of course leave you comments to read :) Have a nice day
left by: Emily

MEMORIAL DAY 2008

Thanks for posting that audio. Let me start by giving you my condolences for the loss of your mother. I know that begin away makes things harder, I too have family members in the service. But I wanted to reach out to you in hopes that you could help me out. I'm a student at The Art Institute of San Diego California, going here for culinary. And in my college English class we are writing an essay in response to one of the blogs in the New York Times website. The approach I wanted to take was to cross reference your thoughts and your fellow bloggers with Tim O’Brian’s short story The Things They Carried. If you could give me your feedback on the physical and emotional things a soldier carries in this modern day, than the Vietnam conflict in the 70's. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you and maybe others.

I have to agree with you about the sun and the desert. There are many who can't see the beauty of the desert, but I believe it can be one of the most passionate and beautiful of places - especially when the sun is rising! Best of luck with your venture.
left by: The Exception

A POEM OF REMEMBRANCE

Maybe you should come run the Race for the Cure in Washington, DC, June 7.
