I hope you like the new blog banner as much as I do. I've been wanting to change it to something that better symbolizes the "pen over sword" concept of this blog -my attempt to emphasize the power and beauty of the written word even in the middle of a combat zone. I think the new banner does this perfectly.
A fellow soldier in my unit named Court Harward designed it. He's a very talented up-and-coming graphic designer and an all around good guy. You can e-mail him at courtharward@hotmail.com if you are looking for website development or help on another artistic project. He also designs military T-shirts, logos, and other merchandise that can be viewed and purchased at this website. Go take a look!

The new banner is excellent. Good job, Court!
I am very impressed by your new banner Lt. Your fellow soldier is quite
talented and has truly captured your unique spirit with his artwork! Thank
you for creating a way for some of us who are new or relatively new to your
blog to view past work which may have been inadvertently unread. Thank you
for sharing your gift with us. You exemplify the title "word-coining
genius" as termed by Virginia Woolf. It is true as we, your readers,
devour your words, it is "as if thought plunged into a sea of words and
came up dripping." You are a great literary artist, Lt.!!
I think the banner is excellent!!
I'm a little slow, but the banner looks great!
