A Few Words from Lieutenant K

    posted Sunday, 12 March 2006

It has come to my attention that most people who read blogs, including myself, have a tendency to read the latest posts and disregard the rest. New readers of a particular blog miss out on some worthy content this way. Blogging is instant publishing, pure and simple, and it has a way of becoming immediate, or right in the moment. But many times a blog, especially a military blog, is a travelogue- the sharing of a journey. For example, this blog was started in January 2005, during the first month of pre-deployment training in Mississippi. If a novel we liked was only published one chapter at a time, we wouldn't be content with reading only the latest one. I recommend that you take some time to discover the archives when exploring a military blog that you like.

So, I hereby present shameless plugs of a few personal favorites from the last 14 months of this incredible and ongoing adventure:

Magic     Thoughts on Making Lists      We Support You – Part I      We Support You – Part II    The Passing of August

Just Drop Me Off When This is Over      Flashbulb Thoughts    Slow-Motion Ladder     A Letter to the Republic for Which We Stand

A Soldier’s Story   The Farm     2006: Year of the Eternal Optimist      The Glass Factory

This deployment is not over. I left my home in Salt Lake City, Utah in January 2005. I left the United States in June 2005. It’s been a long ride. I have been back to New Orleans for emergency leave. I will return to living within mere miles of the Rocky Mountains of Utah sometime this Spring/Summer. Yet I’m already getting nostalgic. Thank you sincerely for the continued support. I don’t have the time right now to respond to all the comments, but I do reply to every e-mail I receive. Simply know that your comments, e-mails, and support are much appreciated.

    Lieutenant K,

Your new "set design" is incredibly impressive and soldier Harward has created a highly dramatic graphic interpretation to grace your blog. I absolutely love it! The written word is your domain, however, and you are a master!

Will take your suggestion to readers and go back over your previous entries, some early ones of which I have not read. Thank-you for all you do; stay safe.

Thanks for linking some of your favorite entries LT K, read them all and plan to read the rest to catch up. I think We Support You I & II have to be my favorites so far. You have a beautiful way with words, don't ever stop writing! Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers. My sincere and continued thanks for all you do for our Country.

Please keep posting links to different articles. You are right, usually the first ten or so down get read.

I love the "We support you" writings. As a Soldiers Angel people always ask why I support our Armed forces. How can I not? Freedom isn't free.

Although its hard to think of things to mail to soldiers. Stories and jokes yes, but my life is pretty boring.

    Thank You!!

    God Bless, You and Yours~~
