    MilBlogging Awards

    posted Saturday, 10 December 2005

I wanted to take a moment and once again thank all my readers for their support, and for their comments. I hava had a few technical problems with Blog-city's new editor, but I'll work through them. Going home on leave and returning to this place was yet another surreal experience I will think about for years to come. The comments I received for the "Emergency Leave" entry meant a lot to me.

I guess I'm in the running for a few "MilBlog Awards" at Milblogging.com. You have to sign up on the site, then go to the home page. On the left gutter is a section called "Top 100 Favorite Milblogs," another called "Iraq Frontlines," and one called "Army blogs." You may have to click on "View complete chart" if you don't see my blog listed in the left gutter. Once you click on the link to my site, you simply click on "Add to Favorites," and you're done.

If you like my blog, and you want to cast a vote, then I'd be honored. But please understand that this little competition is just for fun. I don't care about awards. I write this blog becaue I enjoy it, and to give you a perspective on what it's like to be in the middle of this war in one of the most dangerous places on earth.

We'll keep fighting the good fight, representing you the best we can, and try to be in the Christmas spirit.

Thank you all for the gifts, thoughts, and decorations. You are always in our prayers.

Thank you Lt. K. You have inspired me to "Adopt A Soldier". I have been reading your Blog since August. You have been such an inspiration. I fought adopting a soldier but after this Christmas, I felt I had to do something to thank the men and women that provided me the freedom to celebrate the holiday's with my family. Your stories have encouraged in me the ability to finally do something that I deem admorable in myself. I have "Adopted A Soldier". I promise that I take this wonderful privalage seriously. I want you to know that I credit your Blog for my inspiration. Please continue to write your beautiful words. Thank you, Thank you and Thank you for keeping us safe!
