    READING THE ARCHIVES

    posted Wednesday, 6 June 2007

I've been home for almost a year. I'm writing for the New York Times again and the time I spent in Iraq has been on my mind a lot. I miss it sometimes. It's not the geography I miss, or the explosions. It's the people, the friendships, the raw excitement and adventure.

I just re-read the the last piece I wrote from Iraq, in June of 2006 - an eternity ago. And I thought some of you might like to read it as well.
